COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

· The vaccination processes continue in respective regions and states as per the priority programme, and a total of 64,371 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 2,612 people as first dose on 4 January.

· A total of 1,469 students aged 12 years and above from Basic Education Middle and High schools in respective regions and states have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 1,494 students as first dose on 4 January. A  total of 1,505,758 students have been vaccinated against COVID-19 till 4    January 2022. 

· On 3 January, COVID-19 vaccines were distributed to Myitkyina township, Sittwe township, Keng Tung township, Loikaw township, Dawei township, Myeik township, Kawthoung township and Lashio township by Tatmadaw     aircrafts.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 144 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 10,957 samples and the infected rates are 1.31 percent on 4 January. Until 4 January 2022, a total of 531,299 cases were found from testing a total of 6,076,447 samples and death toll reached 19,278.
