On behalf of Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung Attends Ceremony to Present Flying Wings to Graduated Pilots of 84th Intake of Pilot Course

On behalf of the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung delivered an address at the graduation ceremony of the 84th intake of pilot course of the Tatmadaw (Air) in Meiktila on 28 October.

Also present were Lt-Gen Tayza Kyaw from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Commander of Central Command, Maj-Gen Aung Myo Thant, senior military officers from Tatmadaw (Air), senior military officers from Meikhtila station and invited guests.

Trainee Companies and honourable companies marched past the Commander-in-Chief (Air) as per the parade agenda. And then the Commander-in-Chief (Air) presented awards to the outstanding graduated pilots.

During the ceremony, on behalf of the SAC Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, the Comander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung delivered a speech as follows:

  • In building the Tatmadaw (Air) which has capability and modern one, systematic trainings are being given to produce human resources with skillful and qualified.
  • It can be seen that flight and academic curricula have been modified in order to be abreast of international air forces in line with the main goal of flying training school that “to produce combat ready fighters with skillful and qualified”.
  • The graduated pilots will be learned the subjects related to pilots based on the subjects taught at the school and they are also required to strive to be a good fighter with personality development, intellect, loyalty, obeying and perseverance because of those pilots who were conferred wings.
  • In presenting the wings, they have to accept a concept that they were presented the wings in order to sacrifice their lives for defending the State with skillful flying in the sky.
  • A fighter always needs not only skillful flying an aircraft/helicopter but also following the flying disciplines, skillful flying their aircraft/helicopters using those capabilities, flying safely, being high flying spirit and continuous learning the flying sciences and aviation knowledge.
  • Hence, they have to strictly follow the ground disciplines and flight disciplines so as to be safe flying and ready for operations. They are urged that they will have a reliable pilots in the flying sector of the Tatmadaw.

Today’s graduated officers who were presented wings need to continue advanced training courses related to planes and helicopters.
