Flag Hoisting Ceremonies, Ceremony of Conferring Military Distinguished Gallantry Medals and Certificates, Events and Sports Competitions Held to Commemorate the 74th Anniversary of Independence Day

As the day of 4^th January is the 74^th Anniversary of Independence Day which is the happiest day for all Myanmar people, flag hoisting ceremonies and celebrations to commemorate the Independence Day were held in respective cities, including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Yangon and  Mandalay. Moreover, famous pagodas, parks and public places are crowded with pilgrims and visitors.

Ceremonies of holding military parade and conferring Military Distinguished Gallantry Medals and Certificates to mark the 74^th Anniversary of Independence Day were held in respective military commands. On the occasions, respective Chief Ministers, Commanders of military commands and officials conferred the Certificates of Gallantry awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and the Certificates of Mentioned in Honour Awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services on officers and the ranks who won the certificates on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. Additionally, events and sports competitions were also held in each of military command. 

The 74^th Anniversary of Independence Day is an auspicious day that allows the Nation and nationals to enjoy the rights of freedom from the colonization of British expansionist. Hence, the Independence Day celebrations are traditionally held across the country yearly and events as well as sports competitions to commemorate the Independence Day were also held this year.
