The online media including Khit Thit Media disseminating rumours based on fake news and false news through social networks that some innocent people and veteran Kachin vocalists died in the airstrike on the Phakant music concert by Tatmadaw aircraft. The exact site of incident is located at the base of KIA Brigade (9) and some jade tycoons and only KIA troops can enter the said site in order to carry out illegal businesses. But, the public travel to the site is restricted and it is an area of military operation of the terrorists.
In this regard, KIA Brigade-9 and KIA troops conducted the following attacks:
- They ambushed Hsezin Village and its surroundings between Hpakant area and Hkamti-Homalin areas for nine times with excessive force together with the PDF terrorists.
- They then collected extortion money and committed kidnapping in Homalin, Yepawmee and related area in an unguarded moment of the security forces.
- Moreover, they raided the police outpost with excessive force in Nansipun block in mining jade stones near Hkamti town with legally paying tax to the State in May 2021.
- They set fire to heavy machineries of work site at the time when they retreated in disarray.
- Later, they attacked police outposts in Kansi, Lonkhin and Hpakant for many times, and sneakily attacked Kansi-Lonkhin-Nanya-Mogaung road and Tatmadaw camps for 11 times from 2021 to date.
During three consecutive days from 21 to 23 October, those KIA troops violently exchanged fire with Tatmadaw camps and security forces near Momauk Township for many times. As such, the Tatmadaw conducted necessary military operations against KIA Brigade (9) area due to the latter’s opening fire at passenger vessels and schooners leading to Bamauk along the Ayeyawady River for no reason. The statement on death of more than 50 people and artistes mentioned by the news agencies mentioning fabricated news, fake news and false news was just a rumour. According to the approval ground information and secret news from KIA headquarters in Laiza, only KIA and PDF terrorists including Sharaw Laseng at the level of brigade commander, Zei Tawng at the level of deputy brigade commander, Dukaba La Aung at the level of station commander, and Pe Rang, in-charge of natural resources assessor were dead in the incident.
The security force members are reportedly taking necessary military operations for combating insurgents to ensure peace and stability of the area by following the Rules of Engagement (ROE) in accord with the provisions of the Law of Armed Conflict based on four Geneva Conventions.
