Ceremony to Present Honorary Titles for 74th Anniversary of Independence Day Held

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Maha Thray Sithu Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the ceremony to present honorary titles for the 74th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Union of Myanmar which was held at Thabin Hall of the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman on 4 January and conferred honorary titles to respective persons.

Also present at the ceremony were Vice-Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and officials, the SAC members, Union Chief Justice, Chairman of Constitutional Tribunal, Chairman of Union Election Commission, honorary medal winners, Union ministers, the Union auditor-general, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, governor of Central Bank of Myanmar, chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission, chairman of Myanmar Human Rights Commission, and invited guests.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister delivered an honorary speech as follows:

· On the occasion of the Independence Day, honorary titles will be conferred on the persons, who made brilliant efforts in building a peaceful and modern nation, who made outstanding performances in the respective sectors in accord with the political, economic and social objectives of the country, who exerted exceptional efforts in serving the interest of the country, who were successful in making an international level creation in science, arts or other fields in the interest of the State and people, who are outstanding in literary and performing arts fields, and who make persistent perseverance, zeal and efforts for rule of law.

· In carrying out all-round nation-building tasks to be a stable, peaceful and developed nation, it is mainly important for all the ethnic nationals to cooperate in taking the duties of security, peacefulness and rule of law of the State in unison though the government is to play a leading role in taking those duties.

· As per the recommendation by the scrutiny team to present the honorary medals and awards to those, who outstandingly discharge duties with a strong sense of sacrifice and honourable form of adventure for the State, such a ceremony to honour them was held.

· It is an honourable moment for relatives of the people who could not attend this ceremony themselves, and I, on behalf of the nation and people, would like to earnestly say that it is a great honour for them.

· The Prime Minister of the State urged them to continue to be role models for their descendants showing such a good, outstanding performance for ensuring long-lasting existence, stability, peace, prosperity and modernization and development of the State.

The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister Senior General Maha Thray Sithu Min Aung Hlaing conferred the Thray Sithu title of Pyidaungsu Sithu Thingaha for 2021 to Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and the Sithu title for 10 persons, the Thura title of military gallantry for one person, the Zeya Kyaw Htin title for 17 persons and the Wunna Kyaw Htin to two persons, totalling 31.

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister of the State cordially greeted the attendees, the title recipients and their family members.

  • In 2022, the Thray Sithu title will be presented to one person, the Sithu title to 10 persons, the Thura title to one person, the Zeya Kyaw Htin title to 17       persons, and the Wunna Kyaw Htin title to two persons totalling 31.
