Since the travelling season has begun in Myeik Archipelago of Tanintharyi region, the attraction of foreign and local tourists to visit Smart Island, Bailey Island, Kyalleik Island and Donenyaunghmine Island are on the rise.
A day trip will cost about Kyat 300,000 per person while an overnight trip, around Kyats 450,000 per person for Myeik Archipelago tour. There are 42 companies offering tourism services in Myeik district and ten out of them are currently back to services.
Similarly, there are more than 100,000 people including pilgrims and tourists visiting Bagan Archaeological Zone in Nyaung-U township of Mandalay region in the first half of the year 2022. On Thadingyut holidays, hotels and restaurants located between ancient city of Old Bagan and Nyaung U were crowded with foreign and local tourists, it is reported.
