AA Armed Group Set Fire to Public Houses in Phar-wat-chaung Village of Maungdaw Township

On 16 October, when security personnel who are conducting security duties in Maungdaw township of Rakhine state arrived at Phar-wat-chaung village, AA armed group sneakily fired at them by using heavy/small arms. When the security personnel opened fire them back, the terrorists entered the Phar-wat-chaung village, set fire to public houses there and then fled. Due to the arson attack, 15 public houses were destroyed in fire. The security personnel put out the fire to prevent the rest houses from catching fire, it is reported.

When terrorists encounter an engagement with security personnel, they are used to carry out the same arson attacks many times by taking advantage of people and public houses as cover on the way of retreat. Moreover, the subversive media are reportedly spreading fake news and disinformation describing as if the security force members committed the arson attacks.

Security personnel continued necessary investigation to take actions against the AA armed insurgents who burnt down and destroyed the public houses, it is reported.
