KNLA and So-Called PDF Terrorist Groups Attack for no Reason on a Vehicle Carrying Liquid-Oxygen Imported from Abroad

The KNLA group and so-called PDF terrorist groups attacked for no reason on a tanker containing 20 ton of liquid-oxygen imported from Thailand, at about 2000 metres to the northwest of Apyin Kwin Kalay Village of Myawady Township while the tanker was leaving Myawady for Yangon on 3 January. U Zaya and U Aung Gyi, the driver and his conductor, got serious gunshot wounds during the attack.

The vehicle was also damaged, and it is reported that the Thingan Nyi Naung social welfare team took the victims to the Military hospital in Thingan Nyi Naung town for medical treatment.

The State Administration Council is focusing on the COVID-19 control, prevention and treatment activities and moreover, the oxygen requirements are being fulfilled by local productions as well as imports from abroad. Furthermore, the government is joining hands together with civil society organizations and taking measures to produce and distribute oxygen to respective regions and states in needs.

The KNLA group and so-called PDF terrorist groups are committing such attacks disregarding the humanitarian grounds while the government is making efforts not to have oxygen requirement in public health sector during the COVID-19 outbreak. The civilians are condemning such terrorist acts of the KNLA and PDF terrorist groups who targeted on public health sector and willing the international community to denounce the terrorists.  It is reported that the security forces will continue to make the necessary efforts for providing security services and combating terrorist attacks.
