A black-coloured NISSAN car carrying four Buddhist monks encountered an explosion of a landmine planted by PDF terrorists near Nyahla village on Pakkoku-Seikphyu road on 16 October. The monks in the vehicle are from Sasanawuntha building from Mahawithutaryama (mid) Monastery: U Pannyajota of 34 (14 years of monkhood), U Nandarsariya of 33 (13 years of monkhood) U Eaindrasariya of 33 (13 years of monkhood), U Wizarya of 32 (12 years of monkhood). They encountered the mine explosion while they were on the way to Pauktaw village of Pakkoku township to visit the house of U Pannyajota.
Due to the landmine explosion, U Pannyajota got splinter wounds on left shoulder and right thigh and U Nandarsariya got serious injuries on the left side of the head and right shoulder while U Eaindrasariya got injuries on right shoulder, arms and left hand and U Wizarya got minor injuries. Although the injured monks were sent to Myitchay station hospital in time to receive necessary treatments, U Nandarsariya unfortunately died of the serious injuries in the hospital and other two severely injured monks are receiving necessary treatments, it is reported.
The terrorists of political extremism are doing various kinds of explosions and bombing attacks to provoke terror and fear into general public. Besides, their assassinations of innocent civilians and Buddhist monks/nuns killed reported number of 57 monks and a nun. Since such acts of terrorism certainly damage the dispensation of Buddha Sasana, entire population are disgusted by the terrorists.
Security forces continue necessary measures to identify and arrest the terrorists so as to ensure the perpetrators face punitive legal actions and people are notified to tip-off authorities concerned if they get the information about the movements of the terrorists, it is reported.
