On 22 October 2021, so-called CDF terrorist groups made an IED attack on the 70 feet-long and 30 feet-wide ‘Thee Myit’ reinforced concrete bridge which links Hakha and Thantlang towns. The IED blast inflicted damage at the bridge floor and difficulties in flow of goods in the region.
In order for smooth transportation of local residents, local battlefield engineering task force and engineers from No (1) task force on bridge in Chin State carried out bridge repair works, such as installation of one layer Bailey frame, installation of bridge girder, installation of bridge seam, bridge flooring, construction of bridge approaches and completed 100 percent of work on 24 September 2022. Now, vehicles are crossing the bridge normally, resulting in smooth transportation and good flow of goods.
Security personnel are indentifying to take legal actions under the law against so-called CDF terrorist groups who are carrying out bomb attacks on public roads and bridges being used by people. Moreover, they are conducting necessary security measures for community peace and stability, it is reported.
