Seizures of Narcotic Drugs in September 2022

Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs joining hands together with security personnel are putting stress on anti-narcotic measures, and the seizures of narcotic drugs in September 2022 were as follows:

  • From 1 to 30 September, a total of 780 drug-related offenders including 690 males and 90 females were arrested across the country. Along with them, a total of MMK 12,161.32 million ( over US$ 5.791 million) worth narcotic drugs: 168.86 kilos of opium; 109.45 kilos of heroin; 2,180,001 stimulant tablets; 64.71 kilos of Ice (crystal meth); 63.89 kilos of marijuana; three plants of Cannabis;  0.01 kilos of concentrated opium solid; 0.0007 kilos of low opium; 148.22 kilos of Kratom leaves; 40.12 kilos of Kratom powder; 21.25 litres of Kratom liquid; 1,144 Ecstasy tablets; 22.73 kilos of Ketamine; 4.345 kilos of Happy Water; 50 kilos of caffeine; 115,525 kilos of ammonium nitrate; 400 kilos of ammonium carbonate; 112.9 litres of scent liquid and 160.7 kilos of red powder were seized. 

The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and punitive actions are being taken against them in accordance with the law. Members of anti-narcotic drugs task force joining hands with security force members are making further efforts to identify and arrest drug-related offenders for the eradication of narcotic drugs.
