Yangon Water Bus Service Resumes after Temporary Cessation

Yangon Water Bus which has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 outbreak was resumed operation starting on 6 October. Currently, Yangon water bus is running at the places where most people use particularly the commuters such as the routes: Sar Par Chaung to Lan Thit, Lan Thit to Seik Gyi Kha Naung. Later, plans are underway to run the Water Bus service from Botahtaung Harbour to five other places near Yangon city.

Yangon Water Bus is now running with two vessels, and the fare is set at 500 kyats per person. In order to facilitate the travel of students and staff, Yangon Water Bus is running from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. In addition, there are sunset view tours in the evenings and a tour-trip to Twante at weekends.

It is reported that the fare for sunset view tours is 5,000 kyats per passenger and Twante tour-trip is18,000 kyats per passenger, and around 100 people will be allowed to take the trips.
