There are more than 200 islands in Myeik Archipelago and tourism businesses have been under implementation starting from 2014. During holidays, over 200 to 300 tourists visit Myeik Archipelago per day. Speed-boats and motor-boats are running to facilitate the travels of tourists. Moreover, the tour-guides are cooperating with tourism businesspersons and locals following the instructions of the relevant departments to ensure the safety of tourists and no damage to the environment.
Myeik Archipelago attracts both foreign and local tourists. The most prominent and well-known tourist destinations of sea tours in the Myeik Archipelago are King Island (aka) Lay Kyung, Smart Kyung (aka) Papant Island, Thame Hla Island, Don waterfall, Donenyaunghmine Island (CBT), Taungpangyi Kyun and Bailey Island.
With an aim to visit beaches and islands in Myeik district of Tanintharyi region, tourism businesses will restart in coming October. Therefore, preparatory measures are being taken to facilitate the travelling of foreign tourists.
