Over 8,000 Workers Dispatched to Japan within Six Months

Japan temporarily stopped entry of foreign workers since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it allowed the entry of foreign workers since March this year. Accordingly, over 8,000 Myanmar workers were dispatched to Japan within six months.

The apprentice workers are mainly dispatched. As those who have waited for job after they took an work interview before the temporary stop of dispatch are involved in dispatched workers, the number of dispatched workers this year is larger than last year.

At present, the Ministry of Labour and Japan-Myanmar Association are working together to dispatch Myanmar apprentice workers to Japan. Most of Myanmar workers are working in elder care, construction sites, agriculture production industry, foodstuffs and textile production industries, it is reported.
