According to the reports by conscientious locals, KIA armed groups and PDF terrorists are hiding in the monastery of Let Yet Gone village in Depeyin Township, Sagaing Region, and collecting money by extortion from local residents and passers-by. Moreover, they are going to transport arms, ammunition and explosive materials, using the road by the village. Similarly, other PDF terrorists are hiding around the Okpho Ai village in Taze Township, and they are carrying out destructive acts and collecting money by extortion from locals.
- When local security personnel made security checks on Let Yet Gone village by surprise on 16 September, KIA armed groups and PDF terrorists from the houses and the monastery opened fire at security personnel, using local people as human shield. Therefore, security personnel fought back against terrorists and the latter fled in disarray.
- When security force members checked around the scene in detail, 16 homemade mines, seven electrical-detonated mortar barrels, eight homemade drop-bombs and one walkie-talkie hidden were seized.
- Some of local residents are killed and injured due to the fire of terrorists from residential houses and the use of local people as human shield.
- When security force members make petrol around Oat Pho Ai for security checks, they exchanged fire with some 30 terrorists and seized arms and ammunition along with seven dead terrorists.
Taking cover of local people, houses and religious building, the attack of terrorists against security personnel constituted war crimes according to the provisions in the Geneva Conventions and the international law. In this regard, necessary legal actions are being taken against terrorists who committed crimes under the Counter Terrorism Law and existing laws.
