COVID-19 Prevention and Control Activities Continue

The Ministry of Health has been carrying out COVID-19 prevention and control activities in respective regions and states by designating targeted groups and vaccination drive is being accelerated as follows:

  • Up to 13 September, 36.94 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19 across the nation. About 33.44 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine, 3.5 million people the first doses while 6.81 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 booster doses. A total of 77.19 million doses have been given for people in Myanmar.
  • As the infection rate gradually increased in the country, officials from respective regions and states are handing to public, face masks which are most important one in prevention of COVID-19.
  • COVID-19 vaccines are being transported to Magway township of Magway region, Pyay township of Bago region, Thandwe and Sittwe townships of Rakhine state, Monywa city of Sagaing region, and Loikaw township of Kayah state by Tatmadaw aircraft and Cold Chain Delivery Logistics vehicles in line with the SoP.
  • The Ministry of Health urged again to public to abide by COVID-19 disciplines, systematically wear face masks and receive COVID-19 vaccine and booster doses.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 299 new cases of COVID-19 were detected from testing a total of 11,191 samples accounting for 2.67 percent on 13 September. Up to 13 September 2022, a total of 617,355 cases were detected from testing a total of 8,866,762 samples and death-toll reached 19,443.
