High-Level Delegation Headed by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Visits Higher Naval School, Pacific Fleet Headquarters, and Commercial Port of Vladivostok

          The high-level delegation led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation, visited the Pacific Higher Naval School, the Pacific Fleet Headquarters and the Commercial Port of Vladivostok on 5 September.

        After the high-level delegation led by the Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister arrived at Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School, they viewed and observed systematic training in the classrooms with use of teaching aids and multimedia rooms at the naval school, practical training of trainees at the mechanical workshops, the arrangements to fulfill food, accommodation and administrative measures for convenience of trainees, test-running of the solar-powered vessel innovatedby trainees, maintenance unit and hostels. Then,the Prime Minister replied to queries and suggestions raised by media trainees from the naval school.

         The Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School is one of the Naval Schools under the control of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and it commissioned the officers for the Pacific Fleet of Russia. It was established as the third naval school of Russia on 8 November 1937.

          Then, the high-level delegation led by the Prime Minister arrived atthe Pacific Fleet Headquarters and viewed the maintenance of submarines at the headquarters and facilitation of logistic measures for these submarines.

         In the evening, the high-level delegation led by the Prime Ministervisited the Commercial Port of Vladivostok and they heard the explanations on the functions of the Far Eastern Shipyard Company (FESC), efforts for the flow of commodities together with Southeast Asian countries and the potential for operating port measures and commodity transport with Myanmar presented bythe Head of the FESC at the meeting hall. Then, the Prime Ministerdiscussed the potential for enhancing the trade sector between the Russian Federation and Myanmar and commodity transport, and other necessary measuresthat he wanted to know.

        The high-level delegation led by the Prime Ministerviewed the functions of container terminal and universal terminal at the port, operation of FESC by private-owned vessels, containers, railways and road transport vehicles. Later, the Prime Minister questions asked about all he wanted to know.

        The Commercial Port of Vladivostok was built as the Russian Naval Headquarters in 1872. During World War I, the port was primarily used for military transport measures. In the World War II, some cargo ships of foreign countries started docking at the port. In the 1950s, foreign vessels anchored there, and it was named the Commercial Port of Vladivostok in 1990. It is the largest port in the eastern part of the Russian Federation.
