Myanmar Press Council Explains about Fake News and False Information to Members of International Press Councils

         As the international news on the current political situations happening in Myanmar are diverting from the real situations, the members of the Myanmar Press Council clarified the real news and situations of the Myanmar to the respective members of the International Press Councils at the Ceremony of World  Press Freedom Day which was participated by 23 countries held in World Association of Press Councils (WAPC) Nairobi, Kenya in May 2022, and the Dili Dialogue Forum 2022 attended by five countries held in Timor-Leste in August.

         During the second term of the Myanmar Press Council, plans are underway to exchange views in cooperating with the International Press Councils, and to discuss about information in the media sector by joining with Southeast Asia countries: Indonesia, Thailand and Timor-Leste. Moreover, the Myanmar Press Council are providing trainings in the country for news reporters to know fake news and true news and providing the public to know true news in timely manner by organizing Media Development Sector in line with the media ethics, it is reported.
