Terrorists Committing Terrorist Acts in Pyapon and Ma-Ubin Townships Arrested alongside Arms and Ammunition

        The groups and persons, being declared as terrorist groups, are conducting terrorist activities to disrupt peace and stability of the State, and striking terror into the public to hinder government administrative mechanism. In this regard, they are brutally killing of innocent civilians, torching and blowing up of public buildings.

        On 23 August 2022, four terrorists arrived at the ‘KM’ restaurant and shot the pistol at two innocent female civilians, accusing them of ‘traitor/Dalan’. The two female victims were killed in the shooting, and the terrorists forcibly took away some gold-wares of the victims.

Security personnel arrested Kaung Sithu, Aung Moe Myint (aka) Aye Min Thu, Thein Tyar Hlaing, San Lin San, Tee Tee (aka) Ko Ko Aung, Hein Thu Lwin (aka) Thar Gadoe, Zaw Min Thu (aka) Messi, Kyaw Thura, Kyaw Zaw Oo, Win Myat Thein Zaw, Sai Naing (aka) Let Yar, Myo Min Oo, Wai Phyo Aung, Thura Oo, Nyein Chan, Kyaw San Oo, Thura Phyo (aka) Wa Tote, Ye Zaw Htet (aka) Maung Maung and Tun Tun Oo (aka) Sa Nay, alongside four pistols, 198 assorted bullet rounds, two magazines, one hand-grenade, two homemade bombs, other explosive-related materials, one students card, one citizenship scrutiny card, one gold necklace, one gold hand-chain and one watch belonging to the two innocent female victims.

       According to the arrested terrorists’ confessions:

  • They attended the explosive training opened in the KNLA’s Brigade 7 area.
  • The so-called ‘Black Dragon Force Pyapon-BDFP terrorist group’ was formed in July 2021, comprising 15 members led by the perpetrators Wunna Tun and San Lin San (still at large). The so-called ‘Ma-Ubin PDF terrorist group’ was formed in September 2021, comprising 14 members led by the perpetrator Ko Lin (aka) Let Wae (still at large).

     The so-called ‘Black Dragon Force Pyapon-BDFP terrorist group’ and the so-called ‘Ma-Ubin PDF terrorist group’ conducted the following terrorist activities to disrupt peace and stability of the State, and to cause the public terrified:

  • They carried out IED attacks on the office of the Internal Revenue Department and a house of the head of ward administration group.
  • They made IED attacks on the control room of Mytel tower located in Pyapon township in ward (16) on 17 October 2021.
  • They made IED attacks on the traffic police post in Pyapon township and at the front of the Township Administration Team in ward (4) on 22 November 2021.
  • They made IED attacks and at the Township Administration Team in ward (16) of in Pyapon township on 11 January 2022.
  • They also killed one innocent male civilian living in ward (10) of Ma-Ubin township on 26 October 2021.
  • They also killed one innocent male civilian living in ward (15) of Ma-Ubin township on 4 November 2021.
  • They also killed one police force member from Ma Latto police station living in ward (10) of Ma-Ubin township on 1 February 2022.
  • They also killed the head of ward administration team and wife living in Kyone Kyaik village of Bokalay township in Pyapon district on October 24 April 2022.
  • They also killed one innocent male civilian living in Khwar Lay Kyun village of Ma-Ubin township on 29 May 2022.
  • They also shot the two innocent female civilians to the death at the ‘KM’ restaurant living in Pyapon township on 23 August 2022.
  • Those terrorists committed six bomb attacks and six murder crimes against innocent civilians.

      Necessary measures will be continued to take punitive legal actions against the arrested terrorists in accordance with the law. The general public is urged to participate in eliminating terrorists and making efforts to restore community peace in towns/villages the soonest. Moreover, the announcement was issued that those who provided terrorists’ information and assisted in the arrest of terrorists will be presented cash rewards in secret.
