The State Peace Talks Team continued its meetings with the peace delegation led by the Chair of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Chair of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) and Vice-Chair of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) on 25 and 26 August. At the meetings, the participants clarified the following matters:
- The studies on the agreements of Part III of the Union Accord to check whether they comply with the existing laws and the 2008 Constitution and the list of Union legislation – Table 1 and the list of regional or state legislation – Table 2 in the Constitution in respective sectors.
- The post-2020 procedures and phased implementations – Table 2 to be discussed according to the ninth JICM resolution.
- According to the negotiations resulting from four-day-long meetings, opinions of both sides were discussed again and the final agreement was reached. The agreements were approved and signed by both parties.
The State Peace Talks Team met each peace delegation separately on 26 August morning, and the participants had an open discussion regarding the implementation of agreements from the first round of the peace talks, additional requirements to be fulfilled and regional development activities. Then, the three peace delegations left Nay Pyi Taw on 27 August.
