National Peace Talks Team Continues its Third-Day Meeting with the Peace Delegation led by Chair of PNLO, Chair of LDU and Vice-Chair of ALP

The State Peace Talks Team continued its third-day meeting with the peace delegation ledby the Chair of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Chair of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) and Vice-Chair of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) on 25 August. At the third-day meeting, Negotiation Committee Member Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein and Lt-Gen Min Naung clarified the following matters:

  • The studies on the agreements of Part III of the Union Accord to check whether they comply with the existing laws and the 2008 Constitution and the list of Union legislation – Table 1 and the list of regional or state legislation – Table 2 in the Constitution in respective sectors.
  • The post-2020 procedures and phased implementations – Table 2 to be discussed according to the ninth JICM resolution. Afterwards, the attendees exchanged and desires with each other.

The meeting was attended by the member of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Union Minister at the Union Government Office (1) Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), Leader of the Peace Talks Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, officials of the NSPNC, and representatives from the PNLO, LDU and ALP and members.
