Over 30,000 Tourists Visit Bagan Cultural Heritage Zone in July

Over 30,000 tourists visited Bagan cultural heritage zone in Nyaung-U district of Madalay region in July.

  • 34,082 people visited and paid deep worship to Shwezigon pagoda while other 22,013 people to Bupaya pagoda and 3,231 people to Lawkananda pagoda respectively in July.
  • The number of visitors to the Shwezigon Pagoda is the highest and same as the number of visitors arriving the Bagan cultural heritage zone.
  • A total of 399,582 pilgrims had visited the Bagan cultural heritage zone during the seven months from January to the end of July this year.

There are 154 hotels and guesthouses in Bagan cultural heritage zone and there are currently 65 hotels and guesthouses opening as per the Covid-19 precautionary rules. It is reported that 107 hotels have been granted Regional Level Recognition certificates and National Level Recognition Certificates in accordance with the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol.
