Rgarding the robbery case that occurred on 19 December 2021 in which two handbags containing four visses and 50 ticals of gold worth of (K720 million) belonged to the U Hnin Ngwe, owner of Kyon Sin Jewellery shop opened in the Insein market of Zaygon Ward in Insein Township, a total of 10 suspects including seven males and three females were arrested along with their robbed goldwares as well as 5,450 WY tablets and two taxi cars. This news report was already described in the Information Sheet released on 25 December.
During the attempts to arrest other related suspects, another suspect called Kalar (aka) Win Naing Oo, 40 was arrested according to the information tips provided by a conscientious civilian at the check-point located at the entry of Thaton township on 30 December. According to the confession of the arrested suspect, his wife, Thin Thin Wah, 36 living in Sitetankhin village, Phyu township and his younger sister Tin Tin Moe, 33 living in Aungpinle ward of Mottama township were arrested with 41 gold rings, 11 gold bracelets, eight gold hand-chains, one gold pearl-lot, one gold jade-lot, 76 gold lockets, 19 gold chains, a pair of earrings, K17 million in cash in the evening of the same day.
According to the confession of Kalar (aka) Win Naing Oo:
· It was observed that he robbed the goldwares on the vehicle driving from Insein township to Hlaingthaya township together with other offenders, Nay Zaw, Zaw Lin, Hmatgyi, and Cho Oo on 19 December and Nay Zaw then shared the robbed goldwares to them.
· He along with his wife Thin Thin Wah evaded the police capture by hiding at ‘the place of his sister Tin Tin Moe living in Mottama township. He sold some of his share of goldwares to the jewellery shop at the fourth floor of Myaing Yadana market in Mawlamyine township and earned around K17.5 million.
· He then evaded again in Kanyutkwin Town where his wife’s friend is living after entrusting the rest of robbed goldwares to his sister..
· He was arrested when he returned to fetch the goldwares entrusted to his sister Tin Tin Moe on 30 December.
Relevant officials will reportedly continue the measures to take punitive legal actions against the arrested suspects. In order to arrest other accomplices at earliest, the entire people are also urged to covertly report the information on their hideouts and movements to the relevant authorities. Moreover, the authorities also called for the entire public participation in the measures to restore community peace and stability as early as possible.
