Union Minister U Khin Yi Receives UNHCR Delegation led by Resident Representative Ms. Hai Kyung Jun

The Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi received UNHCR delegation led by the resident representative Ms. Hai Kyung Jun at the meeting hall of the ministry in Nay Pyi Tawon on 12 August. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views as follows:

• Implementation of MoU between the Ministry and UNDP-UNHCR, status of allowing travel and work undertakings regarding with the humanitarian assistance in Buthidaung and Maungtaw region under the Mou.
• Myanmar’s coordination with Bangladesh for the return of displaced persons, according to the process, the findings from the scrutinizing of the ministry on the sending data of displaced persons by the Bangladesh and completion of replying.
• Opening of reception centers and arrangements for the resettlement to accept the displaced persons.

Both sides cordially exchanged views on providing assistance in constructive way by UNHCR and to put efforts for the implementation of Myanmar to be understood by the international organizations, it is reported.
