On 30 December, the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) sold US$ 15 million for fourth time at its FX auction rate. The CBM reportedly sold US$118 million in total of eight time in December alone.

· The sales of US$ by CBM in 2021: the CBM sold US$6.8 million in February; US$12 million in April; US$24 million in May; US$12 million in June; US$39 million in July; US$28 million in August; US$63 million in September; US$110 million in October; US$31 million in November totaling US$325.8 million.
The CBM released a statement that the FX auction does not have any intention to stagnate the exchange rate and to increase or decrease the value of Myanmar Kyats.
