Over 20,000 international tourists and visitors from 64 countries arrived Yangon region during four months from April to end of July. There are 22,241 international tourists and visitors in total including 12,944 on Business Visa, 962 visitors including diplomats on official visa, 5,928 people on regular visa, and 2,407 on tourist visa. Most of them are from China and Thailand.
Myanmar has allowed the entry of international flights since 17 April 2022 and moreover, e-Visa (tourist) has also been granted since 20 May 2022 in order to promote the tourism sector development as well as harmonize with the tourism businesses of neighbouring countries. Furthermore, applying online-Visa (Business) has also been allowed since 1 April 2022 so that foreign investors and entrepreneurs can easily visit Myanmar.
