Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation H.E. Segey Lavrov at the Credential hall of State Administration Council Office on 3 August.
During the meeting, the following points were cordially discussed –
· Holding diamond jubilee celebrations to mark the 75th years anniversary of bilateral relations that will fall on 2023.
· Progress on opening two more new Myanmar consulates in Russia as well as Russian consulates in Myanmar.
· The rights of governments of Russia and Myanmar as sovereign countries to independently administer their home affairs without foreign interferences.
· Further plans to organize additional Russia-Myanmar friendship associations.
· Exchange of visits between governments and high-level military officials as well as enhancement of defence cooperation.
· Matters related to trade and economic cooperation, promotion of tourism industry and further cooperation in the areas of religion and culture.
· Promoting civil and military scholarship programs as well as people-to-people exchange for human resource development.
· Cooperation in humanitarian assistance and situations of international and regional relations.
· The premeditated attempts of the then ruling party in technical and social sectors to ensure the win in 2020 general elections.
· The situations following the election in which the Tamadaw requested the then government to solve the electoral fraud and it had to assume the State’s responsibilities in accordance with the State Constitution for the then ruling party denied the requests of the Tatmadaw.
· Situations of convicting the criminals who committed the terrorist attacks of bombings and assassinations.
· The developments of Myanmar political situation and attempts to achieve the perpetual peace.
· The plans of holding the general elections as per the roadmap when the country becomes peaceful in terms of politics and security.
· The matters of building a Union based on democracy and federalism.
Also present at the meeting along with the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister were Joint-Secretary of SAC Lt. Gen. Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, Deputy-Minister for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Myo Htut and officials and along with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation H.E.
