The opening ceremony of the Hybrid Seminar on Innovation and Young Entrepreneurship for Regional Development that would perform with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2nd batch) was held at the Ministry of Industry on 22 July.
The Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Deputy Minister, Minister Counsellor of Chinese Embassy Dr. Zheng Zhihong, the directors-general, the managing directors, the Vice-Chair of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation National Coordination Unit (Myanmar), international economic experts, representatives from related ministries of the Mekong-Lancang region and officials of the Ministry of Industry attended the event.
During the ceremony, the Union Industry Minister Dr Charlie Than said that:
- An economic ecosystem would be implemented through the cooperation of Mekong-Lancang regional countries – China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Viet Nam and Myanmar – for entrepreneurs, investors, experts and think-tank institutions and relevant individuals to carry out entrepreneurial businesses.
- The seminar links between the People’s Republic of China and Mekong regional countries and also promote close cooperation on the matters regarding land plot, culture and businesses.
- The seminar will share knowledge and know-how on innovation and entrepreneurship leading to the utilization of digital system in the MSME businesses, such as services, distribution channels of goods, firm brands and labels as well as connection with consumers.
- The seminar will explore the opportunity that will strengthen all-inclusive sustainable development and improve job-related quantity and quality through their creations and innovations of the youths.
Chinese Minister Counsellor Dr. Zheng Zhihong remarked that:
- The seminar is the foundation that can share the knowledge for innovations and entrepreneurial skills in the region.
- It would benefit young entrepreneurs as the youths are the hope of future. Only entrepreneurship will explore new markets.
The seminar was convened to better practices of innovation among the youth entrepreneurs in the region; share good experience among successful youth entrepreneurs and link between the youth entrepreneurs and civil servants in the region, it is reported.
