Meeting Held between the CBM Deputy Governor and Board of Directors of Myanmar Credit Bureau

The meeting was held between the Central Bank of Myanmar-CBM Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe and Members of Board of Directors of Myanmar Credit Bureau on 22 July at the meeting hall of the Central Bank of Myanmar. The meeting was attended by the CBM Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe, the Director-General of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department U Min Han Soe and officials, the Chairman of Myanmar Credit Bureau U Zaw Lin Aung, members of Board of Directors; U Zaw Moe Aung, Mr. William Lim, Ms. Lee Sin Jit, the Head of Operation Daw Kyawt Kay Khaing and the Secretary of Board of Directors Daw Myat Noe Thazin Naing.

          In the meeting,

  • The Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe discussed data entered, the banks’ participation and the situation that requires CBM assistance in the credit reporting system.
  • The Director-General of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department talked about the necessary steps to be taken in relation to bank credit reporting and data security. Similarly, the Head of Operation Daw Kyawt Kay Khaing discussed the current banks' data upload conditions, the most recent credit data received, the conditions of using credit reports by month and the problems encountered in performing tasks, the member fee to be imposed on member banks, and receiving reports.

It is reported that the CBM Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe also emphasized the CBM’s future plans to raise public awareness by collaborating with the Myanmar Credit Bureau on effective financial sector implementation.
