Outstanding Students in 2021-2022 Matriculation Exam Arrive from an Excursion to Singapore and Thailand

With an aim to develop the education sector of the State, Tatmadaw is emphasizing on the education of the military personnel and their family members. Under the guidance of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, the youths were taken on an excursion to Singapore and Thailand in order to expand their boundaries of international knowledge and expose to international culture and new environs. The excursion team including students and military personnel returned to Yangon on 19 July. The activities of the excursion team were as follows –

  • From 15 to 16 July, they visited Garden by the Bay in Singapore, Merlion Park and Singapore's iconic Merlion statue and took documentary photos. They also made an excursion to the National University of Singapore, Nayang Technological University (NTU); Science Center, Sea Aquarium and Assumption University.
  • From 17 to 19 July, they visited Mya Pagoda in Bangkok, the aquarium and Madame Tussauds. Moreover, they also went to the ancient historical Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn) in Chao Phraya River City by boat and looked around the beautiful scenery of Bangkok.

It is reported that the excursion team led by Colonel Tin Zaw Latt from the office of Adjutant General including 30 outstanding students at the Matriculation Exam 2022 who are children of active and retired military personnel, three military personnel with the highest marks, two headmasters of the schools that achieved the top-rate of exam-passes in 2021-2022 academic year and three administration members of the team, totaling 38 was taken on an excursion to Thailand and Singapore from 15 to 19 July.
