Ceremony to Share Merits with Martyr Leaders Held

The ceremony of giving merits to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation was held at the Zabuthiri Hall of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Office in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 19 July which is the 75th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day.

The ceremony was graced by members of the Sangha led by the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of the Pauk Myaing Monastery in Lewe, and member of the State Administration Council (SAC) Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers, Nay Pyi Taw council members and officials.

The SAC member Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San and the congregation took the Five Precepts from the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of the Pauk Myaing Monastery, and donated offertories to members of the Sangha, and then shared the merits gained in dedication to great martyrs.

At 10:37 am, those who attended the ceremony paid their tribute to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation and observed a one-minute silence tribute. After the ceremony, the SAC member Union minister Admiral Tin Aung San and officials donated a day meal to Sayadaws and monks.
