Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Holds Talks with Head of Novosibirsk Government, and Arrives back in Myanmar

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing currently in Novosibirsk of the Russian Federation held discussions with Head of Novosibirsk Government Mr. Andrey Alexandrovich Travnikov at the government office on 16 July. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the following matters:

  • Potentials for economic cooperation based on geographical conditions of Novosibirsk, and exports and imports between the two countries.
  • Cooperation in tourism development, and launching direct flight to Novosibirsk from Myanmar.
  • Proper cooperation with Myanmar in the education sector as there are 22 advanced universities of various fields in Novosibirsk which admit foreign students.
  • Plans to send a Myanmar delegation to the science and technology forum to be held in the Russian Federation and arrangements for studying science and technology sectors.
  • Matters relating to cultural exchange and promotion of friendly relations in all sectors including military and civil cooperation.
  • The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister together with wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and party also paid a visit to Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, one of the world’s largest theatres, near the Marriott Hotel in Novosibirsk, where responsible officials conducted the guests around the theatre.
  • The Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and delegation arrived back in Myanmar in the evening of 16 July.

During the visit, the delegation consecrated and hoisted the diamond orb and the pennant-shaped vane atop the replica of the Shwezegon Pagoda in Ethnomir world cultural city in Kaluga State in the Russian Federation, met with military and civilian officials, visited tourist attractions, universities and factories, and discussed promotion of cooperation in friendship and culture between the two countries and the two armed forces, the military technology sector, the science and technology sector, the research sector, the human resources development sector, the economic development sector, the culture sectors and other sectors.
