The delegation led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation left for Tolmachevo airport of Novosibirsk by a flight from Pulkovo International Airport of St. Petersburg on 16 July. On arrival at Novosibirsk, they were welcomed by officials.
Then, the Senior General and party visited the Novosibirsk State University and were welcomed by Rector Dr Mikhail Petrovich Fedoruk and officials concerned. The rector and officials explained research works of science and technology subjects, findings in chemistry, physics, applied mathematics and information technology, biology and geology, prediction and discoveries through modern technology for future prospective conditions, lab research and classrooms.
At the meeting hall of the university, the rector played the video file of the lecture section of Novosibirsk State University and explained the university status, acceptance of foreign students, teaching programmes about subject-wise curricula for postgraduates, dormitory and stadiums for students to the Senior General and party. He also expressed the readiness to welcome Myanmar students.
The Senior General raised questions about and discussed the criteria for selecting students and sending Myanmar military and civil trainees. Then, the Senior General viewed round the campus and posed for commemorative photos.
After that, the Senior General and party also visited the Higher Military Command School and were welcomed by Commandant Major-General Markochin Segeri Gregorivich. Next, the Senior General and delegation members saluted the statues of those who were awarded gallantry medals for sacrificing their lives for the State and laid a wreath.
Then, the Senior General and party studied shooting skills of the trainees in the simulator hall and weapons and sights developed by the Russian Armed Forces and the officials explained. The Senior General accepted a historic sight developed by the Russian Armed Forces, which served for 80 years in the Russian Armed Forces, as a gift and returned a souvenir to them.
In the evening, the Senior General and party attended the dinner party hosted by the Head of the Novosibirsk Government.
