PDF Terrorists Make IED Attacks on Passenger Buses

Aiming to disturb peace and stability of the State, PDF terrorists with extreme political dogma are striking terror into people and committing various violent acts wantonly such as firing small arms/support weapons at non-military targets of towns and villages where civilians live; making bomb attacks on vehicles running along the roads and carrying out IED attacks on bridges to cause casualties of innocent people.

• On 12 July while a passenger bus running to Mandalay city from Myitkyina city was under taking security checks at the check-point by Shwebo-Myitkyina road in Kantbalu township of Sagaing region, an IED planted by PDF terrorists exploded. Due to the bomb blast, a female in the vehicle died of serious injuries and the seven other passengers got splinter wounds.
• As PDF terrorists launched an IED attack on the “Shwe Wei Min” passenger bus driven by U Aung Ko Oo, running to Dawei from Myeik in Taninthayi region, at the location between the mileposts of 101/1 and 101/2, the driver and four passengers were injured, and the front door glasses were damaged.

Joining hands with locals, security force members are pursuing necessary investigations to identify and arrest the PDF terrorists who committed the afore-mentioned attacks and take legal action against them, it is reported.
