The Myanmar Investment Commission - MIC held its meeting (3/2022) at No. 18 Union Government Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 11 July and the State Administration Council member and Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and the MIC members attended.
During the meeting, MIC greenlit the expansion of capital by 11 existing enterprises as well as the 19 new projects in the sectors of industry, services, livestock and agriculture, electricity and energy. The overall investments amounted to US$807.155 million and over K321,948.752 million. Those enterprises will employ over 3,100 residents. Among the permitted projects, there includes five projects of generating electricity by building plants of solar-power which is one of the renewable energy resources.
In accordance with Myanmar Investment Law, Myanmar has attracted foreign direct investment of more than $829.395 million from 20 enterprises for 2022-2023 FY. The domestic investments made by Myanmar citizens have exceeded K350,947.437 million and 20 enterprises were given the green-light. Those enterprises are to create 12,747 job opportunities.
