Progress of COVID-19 Vaccination in Respective Regions and States

The Ministry of Health has carried out COVID-19 prevention and control activities in respective regions and states by designating targeted groups and accordingly, vaccination process is being accelerated-  

  • 2.83 million students aged from five to 18 years, 0.13 million students aged from 15 to 18 and 26.80 million students aged 18 years and above have already received two-time full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • 2.59 million students aged from five to 18 years, 0.14 million students aged from 15 to 18 and 3.1 million students aged 18 years and above have already received the first doses.
  • A total of 3,768,408 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 booster doses in respective regions and states from 1 January to 10 July 2022.
  • As of 10 July, 35.67 million people in total have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 29.77 million people have received two-time full doses of the vaccine, 5.9 million people have received the first doses and 3.7 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 booster doses. A total of 69.16 million people have been inoculated against COVID-19 in Myanmar.

COVID-19 vaccines have been delivering from Yangon to some townships by Tatmadaw aircrafts as follows:

  • On 5 July, 20,900 vaccines and 64,000 syringes were delivered to Lashio in Shan state (North), 10,126 vaccines and 22,400 syringes were delivered to Kengtung in Shan state (East), 16,275 vaccines and 166,400 syringes were delivered to Sittwe, 8,297 vaccines and 70,400 syringes were delivered to Thandwe in Rakhine state, 13,077 vaccines and 76,800 syringes were delivered to Kalay in Sagaing region, 23,687 vaccines and 33,200 syringes were delivered to Myitkyina in Kachin state, 800 vaccines and 4,400 syringes were delivered to Paletwa, 1,000 vaccines and 5,000 syringes were delivered to Tedim, 720 vaccines and 3,960 syringes were delivered to Tonzang in Chin state.
  • On 6 July, 8,400 vaccines and 70,400 syringes were delivered to Myeik, 1,300 vaccines and 6,400 syringes were delivered to Dawei and 19,200 syringes were delivered to Kawthoung in Taninthayi region.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 9 new cases of COVID-19 were detected from testing a total of 4,356 samples accounting for 0.21 percent on 10 July. As of 10 July 2022, a total of 613,736 cases were detected from testing a total of 8,420,625 samples and death-toll reached 19,434.
