Statement Made by SAC Information Team Leader Major General Zaw Min Tun on Demise of Former Japanese Prime Minister Mr Shinzo Abe

Former Prime Minister of Japan Mr Shinzo Abe passed away in the assassination of a gunner in Nara City during a stump speech. Regarding the incident, leader of the State Administration Council Information Team responded as follow on the question about the attitude of Myanmar.

  • The assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe shocked Myanmar and we strongly condemned the terrorist act of assassination.
  • Mr Abe is a genuinely good friend and old friend of Myanmar as well.
  • Our country has always strongly condemned any individual and organization that committed the acts of terrorism. The State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister has also sent a message of condolences to the Japanese Prime Minister for the demise of former Japanese Prime Minister Mr Shinzo Abe.
