Foreign Trade Increased during 2022-2023 Financial Year

During the tenure of the State Administration Council, foreign trade was increased through border trade posts and regular trade routes_

• Starting from 1 April to 17 June in 2022-2023 FY, the value of exports has reached USD 313.577 million while the value of imports was USD 40.076 million in Myanmar-China border trade through Muse border trade post in Shan state (North). The total trade value reached to USD 353.653 million.
• In June, 83,926 tonnes of rice and 62,168 tonnes of broken rice, totalling 146,094 tonnes were exported to 27 countries by 38 domestic export companies. 125,374 tons were exported by maritime route and 20,720 tons by border trade posts.
• USD 322.441 million in total were generated from the export of 426,643.36 tons of pulses from 1 April to 17 June.

Recently, border trade has been steadily improving as border gates have used the system of driver replacement. 150,000 to 200,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice in average have been exported per month to foreign countries within this fiscal year. It is expected that about two million tonnes of rice will be exported. Various kinds of pulses are mostly exported to Asian countries and European Nations.
