Starting from 1 April to 17 June within two-month period in 2022-2023 FY, USD 300 million were generated from the export of 400,000 tons of pluses according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Regarding the export of various kinds of pulses to foreign markets
- USD 259.496 million were generated from the export of 331,814.583 tons of pluses through maritime route.
- USD 62.945 million were generated from the export of 94,828.777 tons of pluses through border trade posts.
- Therefore, USD 322.441 million in total were generated from the export of 426,643.36 tons of pulses.
It is reported that green peas, black gram and pigeon pea from local markets are mostly exported to Asian countries including India and China, as well as European Nations.
