Suspects Involved in the Robbery Case at No. (9) Branch – KBZ Bank in Chanayetharzan Township Arrested

On 16 June, six terrorists from so-called Yadanarpone Revolution terrorist group robbed the No. (9) branch of Kanbawza Bank located at 26rd, 62st x 63st in Chanayethazan township of Mandalay region and took K44.9 million at gunpoint. Due to the relentless efforts of the security force members to arrest the perpetrators as early as possible, the six culprits: Kaung Khant Naing, Than Tun Zaw, Myo Min Thant, Pa Pa Lin, Thinzar Lin and Lae Lae Wai were arrested in No. (1) ward of Nyaung-U township on 22 June.

          According to the confessions of the arrested perpetrators,

• Six perpetrators including Kaung Khant Naung and Than Tun Zaw led by by Sayar Swan (aka) Htet Shine Zaw armed with two pistols reportedly robbed K44.9 million from the bank at gunpoint. It was also found out that Sayar Swan (aka) Htet Shine Zaw was back to Mandalay after hiding in Nyaung-U township.
• The security personnel then conducted follow-up actions to arrest the suspect Sayar Swan (aka) Htet Shine Zaw and he was found at Lotteria burger shop located at 84rd, 62st x 63st in Mahar Aungmyay township on 25 June. During the arrest, the suspect attempted to escape by shooting back the security personnel. Therefore, security personnel shot him back in defence and the suspect was arrested dead along with a Glock pistol, its two magazines and 19 rounds of 9-mm bullet.
• It was found out that Than Tun Zaw, Kaung Khant Naung and Sayar Swan (aka) Htet Shine Zaw had attended the explosive course for a month at the PDF terrorist group in Kani township, Monywa district of Sagaing region and the so-called Yadanarpone Revolution was organized with 25 members led by Sayar Swan (aka) Htet Shine Zaw.
• It was also found out that the so-called Yadanarpone Revolution was organized with certain intentions such as: to carry out acts of terrorism to disrupt the State’s administration mechanism; to kill innocent civilians by alleging them as informant/Dalan; and also to get money from robbing the banks and businesspersons.

It is reported that the arrested offenders will be taken punitive legal actions.

• Six out of the perpetrators involved in the bank robbery case that occurred at at No. (9) Branch – KBZ Bank in Chanayetharzan Township were arrested while their leader was arrested dead.

• The so-called Yadanarpone Revolution was organized with certain intentions such as: to carry out acts of terrorism to disrupt the State’s administration mechanism; to kill innocent civilians by alleging them as informant/Dalan; and also to get money from robbing the banks and businesspersons.
