Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung attended a regional workshop on the National Tourism Professional Board (NTPB) and the Tourism Professional Certification Board (TPCB), led by the Ministry of Tourism and Economic Innovation of Indonesia, held via a hybrid system on 24 June.
During the workshop, the Union Minister urged the ASEAN Regional Secretariat on the Implementation of Mutual Recognition of ASEAN Tourism Professionals to promote the implementation of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Programme for Tourism Professionals and Tourism Entrepreneurs. He discussed issues related to the capacity building of ASEAN Master Trainers and ASEAN Master Assessors, and the provision of teacher training programmes for Freelance Professionals under the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Programme.
The meeting was attended by representatives from related Ministries of NTPB and TPCB, private tourism organizations, the International Labour Organization, Speakers from the Ministers of Education for the Establishment of Learning Centres in Southeast Asia and ASEAN and East Asia Economic Research Group, Members of the NTPB and TPCB from the ASEAN Member States and representatives from the ASEAN Tourism Authority.
