Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo received the delegation of Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA) at the meeting hall of the Minister’s office on 22 June to discuss about the local economic development based on agriculture and livestock.
During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the following points:
- The local people are necessary to make efforts for the marketable products by cultivating the crops which can be beneficial in their respective farmlands.
- The necessary technical assistance will be provided for cultivation and production of marketable value-added crops.
- The necessary technical assistance will be provided to promote the fish farming and animal breeding, the production of finished goods as well as to encourage private investments in local.
- Likewise, the rights for land use, getting strains and the technical assistance will be provided for seasonal crops and fruits in addition to plain land coffee and perennial crops.
Then, the officials discussed about the technical assistance on the expansion of local development and agriculture and livestock tasks, and the conditions on the requirements of the members of DKBA to be fulfilled. The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo, permanent-secretary U Kyaw Min Oo and directors-general from respective departments as well as delegation member of DKBA.
