The Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by SAC members and senior military officials, inspected the natural gas and waste heat power plant project under implementation there on 14 June.
After the Vice-Chairman of the SAC and party heard reports on the implementation progress of the project presented by the in-charge of the project with the aid of PowerPoint, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC stressed the following points:
- When it comes into operation, the plant will generate 135 MW with the distribution rate of 8.59 cents per 1 unit, and contribute to local.
- Moreover, it is necessary to safeguard the natural environment during the implementation of plant project and its operation.
- He discussed about the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) tasks related to the health and education of local people living around the area of the plant.
- It is required to finish the implementation of the project in accordance with the required standards in time.
- If the experts want to observe the mechanical equipment of the plant during the implementation project, the Vice-Chairman discussed the measures on their study tours.
The natural gas and waste heat power plant is going to be the first of its kind in Myanmar and it will generate electricity by using the highly efficient SGT-800 Gas Turbine manufactured in Germany. During the 25 years of operation, engineers from Electric Power Generation Enterprise will be assigned and technology for operation and maintenance will be transferred.
Afterwards, the Vice-Chairman of the SAC and party visited public hospital in Kyaukpyu and Kyaukpyu Education Degree College and met responsible personnel and fulfilled the requirements.
