Criminals Convicted of Brutal Killing of an Innocent Female Civilian Living in Aung Myittar Ward in Hlaingthaya Township

 

On 14 March 2021, some 20 people led by Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi carrying sticks and knives arrived at a woman’s home and accused her of informant/Dalan for not banging pans and pots. They then abducted her for interrogation. The news report on the arrest of the perpetrator Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi was already described in the newspapers issued on 16 and 22 March 2021.

According to the confessions of the arrested perpetrator Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi -

  • At 9 PM on 14 March 2021, some 20 people living in Aung Myittar ward, including Myint Myint Aye, Tin Tun Aung (aka) Moe Shan, Thant Zaw Oo and Min Min (aka) Aung Min Oo, led by Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi made barbaric tortures on a female civilian and a housemaid after they tied their hands behind their backs, accusing them of informant/Dalan for not banging pans and pots.

  • On 15 March, Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi and Aung Thura Zaw (aka) Gatone (aka) Thura took the innocent female civilian to a location near Byoukyoe village in Twantay township by car after confining the housemaid at home. Arriving at a deserted area, they then stabbed her for five times with a nine-inch-long double-edged dagger taken with them. While the innocent female civilian was struggling against them with the stab wounds, Aung Thura Zaw (aka) Gatone (aka) Thura took off her a gold necklace with locket and a gold ring she wore. Then he took her down from the car and stabbed her brutally again for two times to the death. After that, they left the body of the innocent female civilian into bushes.     

As regards the crime, the criminals: Hla Myo Aung (aka) Ko Myo (aka) Wat Gyi, Aung Thura Zaw (aka) Gatone (aka) Thura, Tin Tun Aung (aka) Moe Shan and Myint Myint Aye, who made several barbaric tortures on and killed an innocent female civilian brutally after they accused her of ‘informant/Dalan’, were faced trials by the military tribunal of Martial Law. As the criminals were found guilty, they were sentenced to ‘the death penalty’ under Section 302 of the Penal Code on 12 April 2021, it is reported.

The four criminals who made several barbaric tortures on and brutally killed an innocent female civilian living in Aung Myittar ward of Hlaingthaya township after they accused her of ‘informant/Dalan’, were faced trials by the military tribunal of Martial Law. As the criminals were found guilty, they were sentenced to ‘the death penalty’ under Section 302 of the Penal Code on 12 April 2021.
