Annual Evaluation Meeting on the Enhancement of the Conditions of Regular Immunization and COVID-19 Vaccination Programmes

 

The annual evaluation meeting on the accelerating the measures of the regular immunization and COVID-19 vaccination programmes under the Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI) was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw on 6 and 7 June.

During the meeting, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win highlighted the following points:

  • It is necessary to conduct not only vaccination processes but also other healthcare services at the same time.
  • It is required to have security awareness of the health staff and accelerate the regular immunization processes based on the successful implementation status of the COVID-19 vaccination programmes.
  • The vaccination plans for the respective areas in hard-to-reach areas must be set, and the regular immunization processes must be conducted once the COVID-19 vaccination processes start.
  • After reviewing the conditions of the COVID-19 vaccination to students, the officials have to arrange to vaccinate students who were remaining, against COVID-19.

The health officers of the Department of Public Health in respective regions and states who attended the meeting reported the conditions of COVID-19 vaccination and regular immunization programmes and then Union Minister and Deputy Minister fulfilled the needs.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Health, Deputy Minister and officials, and the relevant officials of WHO and UNICEF. The meeting was also discussed about the cooperation matters to accelerate the regular vaccination programmes.
