Over 150,000 Tonnes of Rice and Broken Rice Exported to Foreign Countries in May

Over 150,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice have been exported to foreign countries in May 2022. According to the Myanmar Rice Federation, it is expected to export up to two million tonnes within the fiscal year.

A total of 36 local companies exported 94,691 tonnes of rice and 58,815.5 tonnes of broken rice to foreign countries and 150,000 to 200,000 tonnes on average have been exported per month.

Rice and broken rice are being exported to foreign countries via Yangon through border trade points and maritime routes and therefore, the trade of export-quality rice is currently good in Yangon markets.
