Myanmar-China Border Trade Post Reopens

 

Around 80 trucks are running for trade between Myanmar and China per day through the Kyinsankyawt trade post, also a border trade channel of Muse, northern Shan state.

In doing bilateral trade:

  • Starting from 16 May, trucks loading full of goods from Myanmar are allowed to enter China under the driver-substitution system. Besides, the China side also eases some restrictions including COVID-19 protocols.
  • Through the Kyinsankyawt trade post, Myanmar exports agro-products to China for now. Similarly, it mainly imports pharmaceutical products, materials used in construction and fertilizers from China.

For the time being, only Kyinsankyawt border trade post is reopening among Myanmar-China border crossings in Shan state but, ‘Kyalgaung,’ ‘Sinphyu,’ ‘Mang Wein,’ ‘Chin Shwe Haw’ and ‘Nantaw’ do not still reopen yet, it is reported.
