The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard provided healthcare services to service personnel living in Pale Kyun and local people in surrounding villages of Bokepyin township of Tanintharyi region on 26 May. The 316 local patients in total including 90 patients who need medical treatments, 42 patients who need surgical operations, 43 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 41 patients with pediatric diseases, 37 orthopedic diseases, 19 patients with ENT related diseases, 22 patients with eye diseases and 22 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment.
The medics conducted operations on 18 patients who need to perform general surgery and 13 patients who need to perform eye surgery. Diagnoses and treatments were also provided to 16 patients who need to take X-ray scans, 36ultrasound scanning patients, 42 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures, 49 patients who need to receive laboratory tests and two patients who need to receive computerized pathology tests. Moreover, it is reported that a pregnant woman was able to give birth a baby successfully onboard by Caesarean section and the healthcare services have been providing onboard since 2016. Therefore, the baby was born onboard as the 15thchild in history.
