Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) Continues to Provide Healthcare Services to Locals in Kawthoung Township

 

The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Team onboard provided healthcare services to local people living in Jalan village and surrounding villages of Kawthoung township of Tanintharyi region on 25 May. The 1,47 local patients in total including 41 patients who need medical treatments, 14 patients who need surgical operations, 17 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 22 patients with pediatric diseases, 11 orthopedic diseases, 13 patients with ENT related diseases, 12 patients with eye diseases and 17 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment.

The medics conducted operations on four patients who need to perform general surgery. Diagnoses and treatments were also provided to six patients who need to take X-ray scans, eight ultrasound scanning patients, 17 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures, 24 patients who need to receive laboratory tests. Moreover, it is reported that a patient with about 12 pounds of uterine fibroids was managed to operate successfully onboard.
