Paddy, maize, ground-nut, sesame, sunflower, assorted beans, cotton and sugarcane are the major crops in Myanmar. Among them, the cultivation of assorted beans is the second largest among the crops grown in Myanmar accounting for 33 percent of agricultural products of the whole country.
From 1 October to 17 December in 2021-2022 FY:
· A total of US$ 227.955 million was earned from the export of 275,752.333 tonnes of assorted pulses and beans via sea lane.
· US$14.512 million was earned from the export of 15,477.517 tonnes of assorted pulses and beans via border trade posts. Therefore, a total of US$ 242.467 million was earned from the export of 291,229.85 tonnes of assorted pulses and beans in total.
It is reported that black gram, green gram and pigeon pea among assorted pulses and beans grown in the country are the largest exports to foreign countries.
